Your USMLE Step 3 score will be released either 2 or 3 Wednesdays after your second day of Step 3. The score is released at around 7am ET for IMGs and at 11am ET for US MD and US DO students.

When do USMLE Step 3 scores come out?
USMLE Step 3 scores come out on Wednesdays. The specific Wednesday depends on which day of the week you sat Day 2 of your exam:
- Day 2 on Wednesday–Friday: Scores typically release on the 2nd Wednesday after your exam (90% of the time).
- Day 2 on Sunday–Tuesday: Scores typically release on the 3rd Wednesday after your exam (90% of the time) — one week later than if you had tested Wednesday through Friday.
- Day 2 on Saturday: Equal 50/50 chance of the 2nd or 3rd Wednesday.
The USMLE officially states that results take 3–4 weeks, but in practice most scores arrive in 2–3 weeks. The key variable is always the day of the week you took Day 2.

What time of day are Step 3 scores released?
The time of day your score appears depends on your examinee category:
- US MD and DO students: Scores typically appear around 11 AM ET on the release Wednesday.
- International Medical Graduates (IMGs): Scores typically appear around 7 AM ET on the release Wednesday.
Scores appear in your USMLE online account and you will receive an email notification. Most test-takers recommend checking your account starting Tuesday night before your predicted release date, just in case of an early posting.
